Witmer's Inc. has been in business since 1937, beginning as a Minneapolis Moline farm equipment dealership on the farm of Enos Witmer. In 1947 a store was erected at the present site located 3 miles west of Columbiana, Ohio on St. Rt. 14. A complete restoration and remodeling project in 1997 resulted in a new showroom, parts storage area, and a separate sales office suite for our building division. A modern repair department rounds out the full-line service available to customers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. At present, there are 40 employees working in various departments.

A third generation of the Witmer family is currently involved in the ownership and management of the company. Ralph Witmer, a son of founder Enos Witmer, is CEO, with his son, Nelson Witmer as President and head of the building division. Ralph's daughter, Grace Witmer Styer, is the company Treasurer. All three are active in the day-to-day operation of the company.

The main lines of farm equipment sold are all part of the AGCO company, consisting of AGCO Allis, White, Massey Ferguson, Gleaner, New Idea, Hesston, Glencoe, and Farmhand. Other brands include , Mustang, Krause, Woods, and Great Plains. Many other short lines are also available. Several finance plans are offered for parts and equipment purchases. Fully-trained service technicians and parts department personnel provide assistance to customers in need of repairs or maintenance of equipment.

In 1969 Witmer's became a dealer for Butler steel buildings. In 1987, Butler Manufacturing Co. purchased the Lester Building Systems wood frame building line. This allows Witmer's to offer the sale and erection of structures for most industrial, commercial, and agricultural applications. In-house construction crews are trained to erect the buildings that are sold. Specialized work is sub-contracted out to local companies.
